9:15 PM Review on: Thursday and Friday's Practice (22/7) 1) When any of the leaders besides me is standing at the front, please respect them. It's not nice knowing that you guys took more than 5 minutes to actually get ready for warm-ups. I mean what kind of impression you guys are giving to anyone that comes into the band room? When someone stands at the front, don't talk. I don't see a reason why you guys have to talk. Just get ready and listen to whoever is standing at the front. It's that simple. 2) What's taking you guys so long just for a photo to be taken? A photoshoot can be done in 5 minutes time, but we had to take more than that. And why is that so? You guys didn't want to co-operate with us. It's only phototaking and you guys can't cooperate, everything was in a mess. What if it was an overseas trip? You guys are going to be outdoors. Everyone is going to watch the way you guys behave. Do you want people to make negative remarks about our band? I'm sure you guys don't want to hear any people making negative remarks right... then, please put on your best behaviour and behave. Same goes as when you guys are in the band room. Please be efficient! We don't have all the time to wait for you guys. Do not waste everybody's time just to get ready. Please, also, be pro-active. When you come into the band room, we don't have to tell you all what to do. You should know, wash your mouthpiece, start tuning and practice the parts that you're weak at. We don't have to remind you. During foot drills, please, don't make Shi Shuan and I remind you over and over again, to: -clench your fist -hands behind your skirt/pants line -do not fidgit -stand on both legs -look up. -lock your body These are all simple basics that we don't have to remind you guys. But overall, I you guys were good. Main band, you guys are improving for Jounetsu Tairiku but you all have to work on your parts individually. We will be playing Spaceship Yamato mvmnt. 1 and 2. and Jounetsu Tairiku please please please work hard we don't have much time left. Junior Band, overall you guys were good too. Midnight Rock was good at the start but you guys were lost in the middle. Do not give up. Do not stop. If you guys make a mistake, move on. Play with confidence, that's the way! The melody needs to be played much louder. However, you guys need to work more on Gently touch the sky. Clarinets, the starting was messy. Please work on that! Next band practice is on Monday, attendance will be taken at 3.45pm. Please be in the band room at 3.30pm. Thanks and see you! (Fareha) P/s. Today is our ex conductor, Mrs Chua's birthday!
